The last station in Russia, Ulan-Ude. After this station the train will stop at the border station for the immigration procedures of Russia. After this stop, the train crosses the border in to Mongolia to repeat the same procedure. All together this took almost 4 hours (sorry no pictures).
This was one of the best days on the train, the landscape changed drastically. Above and below is the Lake Baikal, It’s the largest fresh water lake in the world, and the train tracks are laid very close to the shore giving you some spectacular views.
During the day we left the thick Siberian forests behind us, and open grassland appeared with autumn colors.
